If you died in previous BioShock games, Vita-Chambers were your best friend, without a doubt. Still, if you died many times as to actually rely on them, odds are that you found BioShock to be difficult. Developer Irrational Games hears you loud and clear, and so it has decided to include a “1999 Mode” for BioShock Infinite. For the mode, there will be unnamed tweaks and features that you will not find in the standard difficulty levels for BioShock Infinite. According to Irrational’s creative director Ken Levine, the 1999 Mode will also “feature demanding weapon, power, and health management,” as well as a Game Over screen if the player doesn’t have enough resources to respawn. Ouch.
